Rocco Rorandelli (Firenze 1973, vive e lavora a Roma) ha iniziato a lavorare come fotografo documentarista dopo i suoi studi in Scienze Naturali, che lo hanno aiutato a sviluppare un profondo interesse per le questioni sociali e ambientali. Collabora con numerose organizzazioni intergovernative e non profit, tra cui OMS, Oxfam, Save the Children, MSF e Slow Food, e pubblica sulle principali riviste internazionali, tra cui Le Monde, GEO, Der Spiegel, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Paris Match, The Guardian, D di Repubblica, L’Espresso, Internazionale, Io Donna, Vanity Fair, Sportweek, Monocle e IL. Nel 2011 ha ricevuto un grant dal Fund for Investigative Journalism per il suo progetto a lungo termine sull’industria globale del tabacco, successivamente pubblicato nel volume Bitter Leaves (GOST Books, 2019). Nel 2023 ha vinto, insieme a Michele Borzoni, l’Italian Sustainability Photo Award per un progetto dedicato alle comunità sostenibili e nel 2025 si è aggiudicato il bando Strategia Fotografia del Ministero della Cultura per il progetto Silent Springs, pubblicato come libro nel 2026. Parallelamente all’attività editoriale, sviluppa progetti fotografici, editoriali ed espositivi per istituzioni pubbliche, università, organizzazioni internazionali e aziende, tra cui FSC, Amnesty International, Intesa Sanpaolo/Green&Blue, Slow Food, Università di Siena. Ha curato mostre e pubblicazioni presentate in contesti internazionali, tra cui COP28 a Dubai, Fotografia Europea, il Festival della Fotografia Etica e il Parlamento Europeo. È giornalista pubblicista dal 2012 e membro fondatore del collettivo TerraProject.
Rocco Rorandelli (Florence 1973, lives and works in Rome) began working as a documentary photographer after completing his studies in Natural Sciences, which helped him develop a deep interest in social and environmental issues. He collaborates with numerous intergovernmental and non-profit organisations, including the WHO, Oxfam, Save the Children, MSF and Slow Food, and publishes in leading international magazines, including Le Monde, GEO, Der Spiegel, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Paris Match, The Guardian, D di Repubblica, L’ Espresso, Internazionale, Io Donna, Vanity Fair, Sportweek, Monocle and IL. In 2011, he received a grant from the Fund for Investigative Journalism for his long-term project on the global tobacco industry, which was subsequently published in the book *Bitter Leaves* (GOST Books, 2019). In 2023, together with Michele Borzoni, he won the Italian Sustainability Photo Award for a project dedicated to sustainable communities, and in 2025 he was awarded the Ministry of Culture’s ‘Strategia Fotografia’ grant for the project *Silent Springs*, published as a book in 2026. Alongside his publishing work, he develops photographic, editorial and exhibition projects for public institutions, universities, international organisations and companies, including FSC, Amnesty International, Intesa Sanpaolo/Green&Blue, Slow Food and the University of Siena. He has curated exhibitions and publications presented in international contexts, including COP28 in Dubai, Fotografia Europea, the Festival of Ethical Photography and the European Parliament. He has been a freelance journalist since 2012 and is a founding member of the TerraProject collective.
